Oughterard, on the shores of Lough Corrib, is a lovely historic village, with its thatched cottage pub, traditional stone fronts and a 19th century church, set at the gateway of the beautiful Connemara Mountain area. Its many shops, pubs and restaurants make it the ideal location to experience a small Irish Village and a base from which to explore the breathtaking scenery surrounding it.

The lively coloured shop-fronts and well-maintained architecture allows the village to perfectly blend old Irish charm with contemporary levels of service and comfort. The final crowning jewel is the lovely Owenriff River running through Oughterard starting in the Connemara mountains and emptying, at the edge of town, into Lough Corrib.
