Molloy's Boat Hire lies on the western shores of the wonderfully wild
Lough Corrib. It overlooks the scattered sheltered islands, where
prime Trout and Salmon fishing bays with stony shallows are as
many as days in the year. If it is to fish or just to wander carelessly
amid the shadows of the trees that cover the Rocky Points and the
wave-worn islands, here you will find the explorer in you fulfilled.
Kevin Molloy is the newest of three generations of boatman in the long family history of boatmen. He has been a boatman for 20 years and manages the family's fleet. Kevin is truly a fisherman at heart who, having grown up "with a rod in his hand", has a sixth sense about where the fish are and how to catch them. He caught the largest trout ever caught on a fly rod, in the Corrib in 1995 measuring 14lb - 12oz.
Kevin describes his preference as fishing with an 11ft 3, Sage rod and his favourite fly's are the Claret, Dabbler and the Peter Bumble.
Excerpted from "Salmon, Trout & Sea-Trout" magazine September 1997

"With his experience and proven capabilities, could you wish for a better guide to the Corrib?"
